Use and dosage
Application: Never use undiluted DMSO; always dilute it with water (as indicated below). The skin must be thoroughly cleaned beforehand, as DMSO has the property of transporting everything—including other substances it comes into contact with—during diffusion through the skin. Contact with clothing should also be avoided for the first 20 minutes after application. Do not use rubber gloves when rubbing it in, as this will cause them to disintegrate.
When applying liquid DMSO to the skin, allow it to dry for 20 to 30 minutes before wiping off the residue. Use only on clean, unbroken skin!
Suitable concentrations for external use: • Feet/legs: 60–80% aqueous DMSO solution • Torso/arms: 40–70% aqueous DMSO solution • Neck/head: 35–50% aqueous DMSO solution • Ear/nose drops: 15–20% isotonic*, aqueous DMSO solution • Areas of broken skin: 30–60% sterile, isotonic*, aqueous DMSO solution • Warts: Apply 80–90% aqueous solution using cotton wool • Specialized eye drops: 1–3% sterile, isotonic* aqueous DMSO solution (* isotonic means 0.9% isotonic saline).
Internal use – once a week.
Body weight Dosage of 50% DMSO 40 kg 1.5 ml 50 kg 2 ml 60 kg 2.5 ml 70 kg 3 ml 80 kg 3.5 ml 90 kg 4 ml 100 kg 4.5 ml You can also use 70% DMSO according to the table above. However, start with the 50% concentration first so that the body can get used to it. For a natural tick repellent (for a 20–30 kg animal): Add one teaspoon of 50% DMSO to the food.
Important: Even when used internally, DMSO must never be used undiluted! Highly diluted mixtures containing a maximum of 15 ml of pure DMSO should always be prepared in a glass with 0.3 l of water, juice, or tea. Please note that DMSO acts as an enhancer, including when used with alternative medicines.
Storage DMSO crystallizes at temperatures below 18°C. Store upright at a minimum temperature of 19°C; keep the container closed and store in a dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children.
